We could use some rain. I'm already tired of watering but now it's just once a week not every day or every other day.
I went out to track down a student that has our drawings for the literary magazine. It's already too late but at least I know who she is now. I hope to get it back printed by 4/2, back to school night when they show off their science projects. That way maybe some parents will buy it too.
My brioche turned out really well, yeasty, eggy and delicious. They were better than Caro's cinnamon rolls which she cooked a tad to long and used no butter or icing. They need the goop.
I ran out at lunch to the post office, the library and to pick up a take out order of chicken salad. All in 30 min.
I ate my beet tops tonight for dinner followed by asparagus. I sauteed them but I think I like them boiled better. Sauteing them didn't get them cooked totally. The stalks were still stringy. They are not as good as beets but I won't just cut them off any more. The stems like spinach need to be removed. tiny one are ok raw.
Next I try Swiss chard.
Carolina made a red beet salad and yellow tomatoes on lettuce for dinner yesterday. She had asparagus, a sauce of green grapes, wine, stock and mushrooms to put on top of her grilled hens. There was basmati rice with lentils and a kind of raita, cucumber and yogurt sauce with lemon, there was potato salad with too much lemon too. She makes a mango, cilantro, tomato, red onion, hot pepper, pico de gallo, salsa too but just smelling it is too hot for me.
Today Forbes and Gourmet arrived.
