Luncheon

I went to the retirement luncheon yesterday. I knew a few people, but as one teacher who retired before me said...I don't know if you should go. There was a program with names of people that had been here for 45 years, 40, 30, 25, 20 and so forth. I wasn't listed. When the buffet opened I had a few veggies and a bit of the entree, grabbed a bottle of water and headed home. I couldn't see spending 2 hours listen to all that stuff.

I skipped the awards night at the school later too. I had the principal hand mine out to my student.

Tomorrow I go to meet the lade about benefits.

I'm gearing up for summer school. It's a lot easier and cooler to do it here, not to mention a high speed copier that sorts and staples.

I need to get out of my annuities and turn them into Roth IRA. A rep. from an investment corporation wants me to consolidate them and venture into mutual funds. I like the money market. It was the only fund that didn't plummet. It is time to dump some stock though.

There is a dinner for people retiring and leaving the district. First that from 3-5 then an awards ceremony for the kids here at school.

I have a return visit to the dentist to have a new cavity filled. That should be about akk of them now. I've had one root canal, several crowns and she asked if I e=want bleaching. As if.

I sent Ramses over to make a deposit with the bookkeeper. She was not happy that we issued refunds from petty cash. It takes us a very long time to turn in money to her. Then because we hd to turn in money it was longer while I prepared a spread sheet for the additional 30 some dollars. She is so ANAL. I won't miss the interactions with her at all.

I'm ordering magazines for nest year and cutting a lot since we don't have the cash.

the first batch of books are done,cataloged and put away

I lifting 2 textbooks at a time swinging from a cart to my desk, stretching forward and back and I hurt a lot behind my r lung on my back. So far Motrin 800 and a muscle relaxer has been enough. I haven't unpacked or pushed or pulled a heavy cart or put any of the books away.

Marilyn says I should go out on disability now. I haven't heard from my attorney. I faxed her some documents with a question on fees incurred so far. No physical has been scheduled. I canceled the other exam with a QME, qualified med. examiner, another surgeon, who was appointed by the state to declare that my condition was not likely to change. It would not allow the surgery on my spine. My disc is still ruptured. The other is still protruding and there is still a floating splinter floating in the canal. It is still 1/2 blocked.

What do I do?

There is a district retirement lunch coming up at the end of the month.

I'm planning my lesson plans for summer school when it is cool, not in a small room with a small machine. At school I have a fast machine and double side copies and stapled, I also have boys to carry them to the car. Getting them out at home is less pleasant. I need to organize them and put them in lesson plan order. 6,7,and 8 are easier than 9,10 and 11th. Fortunately I have textbooks. I'm deciding on books.

I'm baking some whole wheat bread. I did the sponge and it's out on the deck in the sun waiting for the final rising.

I went out to water all the spider plants, geraniums and lavendar on my deck. It's really hot today but the earlier week was wonderful. 60 in the morning and 70-80 in the afternoon with a breeze.

The new math books are here

I got two pallets of math books. Over 1000 to process and catalog, lug them into the library from outside to the lobby and tyhen to the back room unpack them on carts then catalog. I use a lot of drugs, child labor and my assistant to pull. carry and so forth.

I'm still sore from Monday, I can't wait for today.

The teacher did something nice for us and gave us a Persian catered lunch with chicken or beef schishcabobs (his) rice yogurt with chives, salad, baked roma tomatoes and pita squares and wayer. Delicious for appreciation of teachers week. It was a surprise too.

Well. the math books start arriving tomorrow

The 7th grade new math books are coming tomorrow.

Yesterday, I came home to Lacy and a bed spread she had thrown up on. This is getting old quick. Maybe I need to take her to the vet/ and or change food.

Went shopping yesterday and had sushi, a CA roll for dinner. Since I didn't get my oatmeal down till 2:30.

My back is really hurting. I took a muscle relaxer when I got to school and have a vicodin if the motrin 800 doesn't work.

My volunteer is here today. She takes time away from what I need to get done.
The kids are worse. They screw up a lot.
Then, it takes my time to do it again after I find there errors.

Spring?

I took friday off and ramses took today off and I was swamped.

When I rested this weekenf I thought I could fire my lawyer and just get this claim settled. After this day I know that more treatment is needed.

I finished one of my handouts for summer school today. I'm going to miss the printer.

I went to the farmers market and got some of the first picked cherries. They are not bing but..

I'm going to make some whole wheat bread. I buy a loaf a week at he market. It's stone ground w. wheat. There was a recipe in the paper. It's got to be cheaper than 4.75.

lawyer

Saw a lawyer on Fri. She said I do have a case and to cansel my Medical Evaluation that only happens after surgery. So I sent off the letter this morning.
